SUSTAINABILITY EXHIBITION AT 2008 LLANGOLLEN FRINGE FESTIVAL
16/07/08
The Llangollen Fringe Festival lends support to local food producers, ecological projects (sustainable environmental), local community and arts groups, including an emphasis on Welsh and youth culture (sustainable cultural), projects promoting understanding and inclusion (sustainable social) and projects promoting enterprises such as Fairtrade (sustainable economics).
Simon will be exhibiting ten pieces of work broadly themed on Sustainability, Localisation and Carbon Reduction. The work will be displayed in the Llangollen Tourist Information Centre (Y Capel) between the 19th July and the 3rd August 2008.
The Llangollen Fringe is intending to develop into an “Edinburgh fringe of Wales”, as a sustainable arts festival that will become increasingly famous throughout Britain. Simon considers it to be a great privilege to be able to share some of his work through such a prestigious event and hopes that visitors to the festival will enjoy both his work, that of other artists at the festival and all the other events that the Llangollen Fringe ha to offer.
This years Fringe Festival includes a variety of different exhibits and events including performances by Cerys Mathews (formerly of Catatonia), Wheeler Street, Show of Hands and Kissmet as well as stand-up comedy and an Eco Day.
